* Steve Monreal, L.A. Garfield: Had his second consecutive triple-double with 28 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs in a 79-58 Eastern League victory at Huntington Park.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* April Phillips, Long Beach Poly: Had 11 points and 18 rebounds in a 49-40 Moore League victory at Long Beach Wilson. Judith Smith added 11 points, six assists and six steals for the second-ranked Jackrabbits.
* Clarissa Ricks, Reseda: Had 31 points and 24 rebounds for the Regents in a 64-46 Valley Mission League victory at San Fernando.
BOYS’ SOCCER
* A.J. Benton, Huntington Beach Edison: Scored the game-winning goal two minutes into overtime in a 2-1 victory at Huntington Beach Marina.
