Man Accused in Fatal Crash

A 23-year-old Oxnard man has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run driving after his truck struck and killed a bicyclist, authorities said.
Eduardo Figueroa was arrested Sunday shortly after the 3 p.m. incident on C Street in downtown Oxnard involving Pedro Urrutia, 71, police said. Urrutia was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center where he died of major injuries.
The driver of the truck fled before police arrived but a witness wrote down the license plate number. Figueroa was arrested after authorities found his truck at a residence, police said.
