From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Days after several pelicans were found with their pouches slashed, the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center announced a $3,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
It is unclear if the pelicans were intentionally hurt, but Wetlands director Debbie McGuire called the injuries suspicious.
The four California brown pelicans were found along the Orange County coast in late March and early April, said McGuire. One pelican died; the others are being treated.
