Worker Sentenced for Stealing Body Parts

An autopsy assistant who took home body parts to practice his dissection skills was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing human remains from the UC Davis Medical Center.
David Lawrence Beale, 47, pleaded no contest Monday to stealing human remains and possessing methamphetamine. He was arrested in July 2003 after more than 150 pounds of decomposing body parts were found near his Davis home.
