2 Women Killed in Long Beach Crash

Two women were killed Thursday afternoon when the driver of a Honda Accord ran a red light and broadsided their car at West 7th Street and Daisy Avenue in Long Beach, police said.
Rosa Ochoa, 24, and Maria Alonso Garcia, 41, both of Long Beach, were pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after the accident, which occurred at 4:48 p.m. A passenger in their car, a 15-year-old girl, remained hospitalized in stable condition, officials said.
John Hernandez Lopez, 21, the Honda’s driver, suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, police said.
