Hot West Virginia Wins It in a Rout

Kevin Pittsnogle scored 25 points and Johannes Herber had a career-high 21 to lead hot-shooting West Virginia to a 92-68 upset of No. 7 Oklahoma at Oklahoma City on Thursday night.
Pittsnogle was eight for 11 from the field, Herber was nine for 13 and the Mountaineers (7-3) shot 66.7%.
Taj Gray had a career-best 31 points for the Sooners (6-2), leading them back from a 13-point deficit in the second half. But the Mountaineers scored 19 of the last 22 points.
No. 3 Villanova 98, La Salle 57 -- Allan Ray made six three-point baskets and scored 21 points to lead the Wildcats (8-0) over the Explorers (7-1) at Villanova, Pa.
No. 5 Florida 77, Miami 67 -- Joakim Noah had 18 points and six blocked shots at Coral Gables, Fla., for the Gators (11-0), who set a school record for consecutive wins to open a season after defeating the Hurricanes (6-1).
No. 8 Gonzaga 60, St. Louis 57 -- Adam Morrison scored seven of his 18 points in the final 4 1/2 minutes to lead the visiting Bulldogs (9-2) over the Billikens (5-5).
No. 14 Boston College 89, Harvard 55 -- Jared Dudley had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead a balanced attack for the Eagles (8-2) in a rout of the visiting Crimson (8-2).
No. 15 Texas 85, Texas State 49 -- LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Longhorns (9-2) to an easy win over the Bobcats (1-8) at Austin, Texas.
No. 21 North Carolina State 68, Alabama 64 -- Engin Atsur scored 15 points, including two free throws with 25 seconds to play, to lead the Wolfpack (9-1) over the Crimson Tide (5-4) at Tuscaloosa, Ala.
No. 22 Wake Forest 47, Richmond 40 -- Justin Gray scored 21 points and Eric Williams had 13 to lead the Demon Deacons (9-2) over the Spiders (5-5) at Richmond, Va.
Oklahoma State 89, No. 23 Tennessee 73 -- Byron Eaton scored 16 points and spurred a late run as the Cowboys (8-3) held off several second-half charges to defeat the Volunteers (6-1) at Oklahoma City.
No. 25 Iowa 73, Robert Morris 51 -- Greg Brunner had his fifth straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hawkeyes (10-3) over the Colonials (4-5) at Iowa City.

Pooh Jeter and Darren Cooper combined for 46 points to lead Portland (5-7) to an 80-72 win over visiting Oregon (6-5), which was led by Aaron Brooks’ 13 points.... Bryson Krueger scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half to lead Arizona State (6-3) to a 72-55 victory over Northern Arizona (6-6) in the championship game of the ASU Hoops Classic at Tempe.... Chris Stephens scored 21 points to lead Oregon State (5-4) to a 61-56 win over South Florida (5-5) in the consolation round of the Rainbow Classic at Honolulu.... Randy Green scored 15 points and Robbie Cowgill had 14, leading Washington State (7-2) to a 69-42 victory over Utah (6-4) in the Cougars’ first game at Key Arena in Seattle....
