From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on Tuesday will fill the 80,173rd pothole at the end of his 14-week campaign to eliminate tire-shredding gaps in the city’s roads.
The mayor declared in September that he wanted to fill 35,000 potholes left after last winter’s rains, and he urged residents to report any bruisers.
Villaraigosa, joined by Councilwoman Wendy Greuel, will use what city officials called a “large sanding machine” to fill a pothole in North Hollywood. Until then, motorists should keep an eye out for a pothole in the 11800 block of Huston Street.
