REGARDING “The Ciudad in a New Light,” by Beverly Beyette [Dec. 4]: First, the article says we have our own language “Valenciano.”
The language we speak is called Catalan, and Valenciano is just a euphemism some people use. Second, because we have Catalan, and the article is written in English, why introduce words in a third language -- Spanish? It would have made more sense to say ciutat, instead of ciudad.
