Official Lukewarm on World Bank Nominee

A Dutch official indicated that the Netherlands had reservations about Washington’s nomination of Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz to head the World Bank, saying it would be better to have more than one candidate.
“We now have to judge if he is a capable man,” Finance Minister Gerrit Zalm said on arrival in Brussels for a meeting.
