Girl, 14, Killed While Working With Horse

Sheriff’s detectives were reviewing a fatal accident in which a teenager was kicked, trampled and dragged by a horse.
Ashley Hyland, 14, of Quartz Hill was exercising the animal at a home on 40th Street West in Palmdale on Saturday when the incident occurred, officials said.
She was pronounced dead at a hospital about noon. Referral of the case for investigation was routine, sheriff’s officials said.
