Frosty welcome at Park La Brea
Thank you for an article [“A Collective Pause,” May 5] on Park La Brea, “an excellent place to leave,” according to the author. I couldn’t agree more. A few years back, I visited a friend, and accompanying me was my little 8-pound dachshund. The attendant at the gate made me feel as though I had a truck full of contraband. The place has a barrack-like feel, and the rule about [no] dogs ends any natural facilitation between neighbors and newcomers. I don’t have any reason to go back to Park La Brea. I do not have any friends doing time there.
