When big shots blow it

Interesting week for the political in-crowd. House Speaker Tom DeLay indicted, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist investigated, former Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown indignant and Dubya’s approval numbers indefinitely indifferent. At least the GOP got its Supreme leader, Judge John G. Roberts Jr., installed. As Republican omnipotence waned, impotent Democrats whined -- about Roberts, FEMA, Iraq, you name it.
An embarrassment of riches for cartoonists. Gulf Coast laborers wouldn’t be bringing home the Davis-Bacon, which got Dan Wasserman worked up. Tom Toles gave the president a comic stripping. For my part, I tried my best to stick the knife in Frist (the ex-surgeon) and sting DeLay (the ex-exterminator).
