Counseling and probation for radio host

KCRW-FM (89.9) radio host Chris Douridas was ordered Tuesday to enroll in a drug counseling program and serve three years probation in connection with his no-contest plea to a cocaine possession charge.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Millington also gave Douridas, 43, credit for six days already served in county jail.
Douridas was arrested shortly after midnight Jan. 6 on suspicion of drugging and kidnapping a teenage girl, after witnesses claimed they saw him put an unidentified substance into her drink and carry her out of the Circle Bar on Main Street in Santa Monica.
Prosecutors who brought the drug count against Douridas on June 26 found insufficient evidence to file additional charges against him, according to Jane Robison of the district attorney’s office.
Douridas, who hosts KCRW’s weekly “New Ground” program focusing on new musicians, has helped shape soundtracks for such films as “Shrek 2,” the “Austin Powers” franchise and “As Good as It Gets.”
