Chad rebels sign final peace accord

Four Chadian rebel groups signed a final peace agreement with their government. The parties agreed to an immediate cease-fire, amnesty for civil and military personnel and the release of all detainees by both sides. The rebels were granted the right to form political parties and will share power in the government. They will also be allowed to join the military and security forces.
Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi presided over the talks in the Libyan city of Sirte alongside Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir and Chadian President Idriss Deby.
