Island Def Jam names president

Island Def Jam Music Group, the label of rapper Kanye West, promoted Steve Bartels to the new position of president.
Bartels, the group’s chief operating officer since 2005, will oversee daily operations and report to Island Def Jam Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid, the New York-based company said.
