A nice change

Re “Life’s a walk in the park,” Sept. 5

These days, when I find myself depressed by the news I hear and read every day, I was surprised and delighted to come upon this story.

Sol Shankman is an inspiration because he is an average person, albeit one with incredible determination. He is the kind of person who inspires the rest of us, and I wish him many more days of pleasure walking on the trails of Griffith Park.

Thank you for showing us that there are positive stories in Los Angeles. We need more articles like this, more often.
