Police shut down a street in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday after finding a fireworks-laden drone atop a building.
Officers were called to the building at 1055 W. 7th St. about 10:30 a.m., police said. They found a drone, which had fireworks strapped to it, on the roof.
Insurance provider L.A. Care, which leases space at the building, tweeted that the drone was initially discovered by security guards, who contacted police to safely remove it.
Police shut down westbound traffic on 7th Street at Francisco Street while a bomb squad investigated. The street had reopened by 3 p.m.
