The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is beginning to take shape. Officials announced Wednesday that Don Henley would welcome Randy Newman into the Hall in April, while John Mayer will induct blues legend Albert King.
In addition, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson will sing in conjunction with the entrance of disco queen Donna Summer into the Rock Hall, and Mayer will be joined by Gary Clark Jr. in a performance honoring King. Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins are on tap to welcome Rush into the Hall as well. Other inductees are Heart, Public Enemy, Quincy Jones and veteran music executive Lou Adler.
More performers and presenters will be announced as the 2013 dinner and induction ceremony gets closer. Tickets for the event, which for the first time will be held in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre downtown on April 18, will go on sale Thursday for American Express cardholders, then on Monday to Rock Hall members as well as those belonging to the Heart and Rush fan clubs. A general on sale for the public will begin Feb. 1.
