The Television Academy will honor series it sees as working to shift cultural acceptance at a special awards ceremony, The Television Academy Honors.
The eighth annual event will honor episodes of the ABC comedy “Black-ish,” the ESPN documentary series “E:60” titled, “Dream On: Stories of Boston’s Strongest,” and the entirety of Amazon’s comedy-drama “Transparent.”
Other programs to be honored include the HBO movie “The Normal Heart” and documentary “Paycheck to Paycheck: The Life and Times of Katrina Gilbert” and the Netflix documentary “Virunga.”
The honored programs were picked by the academy’s honors selection committee.
The ceremony, hosted by Dana Delany, will take place at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills on May 27.
