OPI nail polish colors never run dry

Crimson craze
Sixty-nine of the shades OPI currently makes are reds. I’m Not Really a Waitress, a flirty pinkish-red, is its best-selling polish.
Color story
OPI (pronounced oh-pee-eye) has created 730 shades of nail polish to date. Hundreds are retired each year depending on beauty trends and customer demand.
Suzi’s signature shade
Artistic director Suzi-Weiss Fischmann may give the colors quirky names, but the one she most often wears is simply OPI Red, a true, classic red with no shimmer or trendy elements.
Liquid gold
The company sells more than 40 million bottles of nail polish and treatments a year.
Not just for nails
An OPI fan once requested enough nail lacquer in Kyoto Pearl to paint the cabinets in her den. George Schaeffer, OPI president and chief executive, sent her 5 gallons of the silvery-pearl shade.
Men like it too
And Black Onyx is the shade guys prefer.
Blushing brides
There are 57 pink shades, many of which are worn by brides on their big day. The most popular is a bright, sparkly shade of cotton candy called “Princesses Rule!”
Hungry for more
Approximately 40 OPI colors are named after food -- Chocolate Shake-speare, I’m Fondue of You, Coney Island Cotton Candy and Black Cherry Chutney, to name a few.
