Spidey’s web has a touch of green

You know green building is finding a larger audience when Spider-Man shows up at the construction site. Such was the case last week in Venice, where Tobey Maguire and fiancée Jennifer Meyer, below, turned out for a party in support of Project 7ten. The 3,600-square-foot residence — the brainchild of Meyer’s mother, Kelly Meyer, and builder Tom Schey — aims to be a model for environmentally friendly design. If all goes as planned, construction will be completed by the end of August, and the house will be open to the public for three weekends in September. The goal, Schey says, is to expose sustainable practices to a wider audience. So far, so good. “We have not had one load go to the landfill,” Schey says of the construction site. https://www.project7ten.com .
