‘Garden Glove’ bandit arrested in Woodland Hills

After allegedly committing more than a dozen robberies at businesses across the San Fernando Valley, the “Garden Glove” bandit was arrested Sunday night, police said.
Los Angeles police arrested Harold Ghaemmaghami, 45, on suspicion of grand theft after he allegedly attempted to steal a 2008 Buick from a Keys auto dealership in Woodland Hills.
Ghaemmaghami is suspected of at least 17 robberies of a bank and popular chain stores -- including CVS, Starbucks and Vons in the Valley and neighboring cities. His nickname came from the gardening gloves he wore during the robberies.
Police said the suspect typically would strike up a conversation with a cashier, brandish a handgun and order the clerk to put money in a plastic bag before fleeing in a car.
The suspect was described as a man in his 40s, 6 feet 1 and weighing between 220 and 240 pounds.
