A 40-year-old man was shot in an apparent car-to-car shooting on the 110 Freeway near Florence Avenue, prompting authorities to shut down all northbound lanes, authorities said.
The northbound side of the freeway was closed between Florence Avenue and Manchester Avenue as detectives combed the freeway for clues. It was unclear when it would reopen.
The shooting victim was driving a white Pontiac Grand Am when a dark-colored Nissan Sentra pulled up and someone opened fire, LAPD officials said. The shooting was reported just before 12:30 p.m.
Police were searching for the Sentra. No suspect description was immediately available.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital. His condition was not known.
