Fresno man accused of attacking neighbor with pitchfork

A 50-year-old Fresno man has been arrested on suspicion of attacking his neighbor with a pitchfork during a dispute over their pets, authorities said.

Kenneth Ray Gibson was taken into custody Tuesday evening after deputies found the neighbor with a puncture wound to his face, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The neighbor, whose name hasn’t been released, had apparently returned home from dinner to find his dog being attacked by Gibson’s dogs, authorities said.

The neighbor approached Gibson, who reportedly lives in a tent nearby, about helping to stop the dog fight, but the two got into an argument that became physical, authorities said.

Gibson then struck the neighbor’s head and arms with a metal pipe and then struck him with the pitchfork, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. The neighbor was able to escape and call police. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for swelling to his arm and the wound to his face.
