A man was taken to a trauma center in stable condition Tuesday night after being shot by an LAPD officer in Jefferson Park, officials said.
A Los Angeles Police Department officer shot the man during an “officer-initiated stop” about 9:15 p.m. at 30th Street and 9th Avenue, just north of Jefferson Boulevard, media relations officer Jane Kim said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department transported a male victim with a gunshot wound to a hospital, fire spokesman David Ortiz told The Times.
No other information about the victim was immediately available.
There have been at least 302 people killed in officer-involved shootings since 2007, according to The Times’ Homicide Report database.
