A Huntington Beach man was killed Sunday in a collision with an SUV as he drove through an intersection in Stanton, authorities said.
Alexander Nguyen, 69, stopped at a stop sign in the southbound lane of Fern Avenue at Cerritos Avenue at about 3 p.m., then proceeded into the intersection, Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said. An SUV heading west on Cerritos hit the driver’s side of Nguyen’s Honda CR-V, authorities said.
Nguyen died at the scene, Hallock said.
Nguyen’s wife, who was also in the Honda, and the driver of the SUV were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment of injuries.
No citations or arrests were made, Hallock said.
