Another transfer season begins
The Southern Section has begun to compile transfer information for the 2014-15 school year, and in July, schools filed paper work for 119 transfers, including 50 who will be subject to the sitout period of about a month before being allowed to play.
That compares to 128 in July of last year, including 43 as part of the sitout period.
August usually produces the largest number of transfers submitted, because athletic directors return from summer vacation and start filling out the paper work.
There were more than 15,000 transfers state wide during the last school year.
