Baseball: Bradley Spooner pitches El Toro past Capistrano Valley, 2-1

Bradley Spooner struck out five, walked none and allowed five hits to help El Toro defeat Capistrano Valley, 2-1, on Tuesday in a South Coast League game.
Jeremy Taylor was the tough-luck loser despite striking out four in a complete game. Gavin Garcia drove in both runs and Kenny Oyama and Nathan Church contributed two hits apiece.
Tesoro 7, Aliso Niguel 2: Shane Coleman had four RBIs and Jordan Martini finished with three hits in Tesoro’s victory.
San Juan Hills 4, Mission Viejo 3: San Juan Hills picked up the Sea View League win.
Santa Margarita 3, Damien 2: Joey Myers drove in Austin Villanueva with a sacrifice fly in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. Colin Rowe threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief, striking out three.
Burroughs 8, Mission Bay 3: The Indians (7-0) stayed unbeaten. Justin Palafox and Brandon Martinez had two RBIs apiece. Shaine Leonard struck out six in a complete game in San Diego.
El Camino Real 10, St. Augustine 1: Jeremy Polon allowed one hit in five innings in San Diego. James Terrazas, Jake Baer and Jake Selco had two RBIs each.
Chatsworth 9, Arbor View 1: In Las Vegas, Tommy Palomera struck out 10 and Daniel Zakosek hit a home run.
Valencia 4, Canyon 1: Chase Farrell struck out four in a complete game to help the Vikings improve to 3-0 in the Foothill League.
Saugus 5, West Ranch 1: Tyler Grissom went three for four with two RBIs and Caden Salkeld added two hits and picked up the save in the Foothill League victory.
Hart 19, Golden Valley 1: Cole Roederer went five for five and Robert Reeves added four hits in the Foothill win. Sophomore Bryce Collins struck out eight in six innings.
Oaks Christian 2, Agoura 1: Noah Prewett hit a two-run triple in the fifth to lead the Lions in a Marmonte League game. Carson Rudd (4-0) struck out six in a complete game. Oaks Christian is 8-2 and 3-0.
Newbury Park 4, Calabasas 2: Chris Clarke struck out seven in six innings. Josh Caplan had three hits for Calabasas.
Westlake 2, Thousand Oaks 1: The Warriors improved to 3-0 in the Marmonte League. Andy Barbosa threw six innings and Adam Hess had a pinch-hit two-run double in the seventh.
Vista Murrieta 9, Murrieta Valley 4: Brandon Luna had three RBIs to lead the surging Broncos (9-1).
St. John Bosco 4, Tustin 3: The Braves picked up the nonleague victory. Tyler Littlefield had the game-winning hit.
North 3, Arlington 2: Shane Martinez had two hits and two RBIs for North.
Esperanza 2, El Modena 1: Ryan Wilson struck out five and gave up two hits in six innings. Blake Schriever got the save.
El Dorado 3, Anaheim Canyon 2: Michael Barnes had the game-winning RBI in the ninth.
Los Alamitos 5, Fountain Valley 2: The Griffins improved to 2-0 in the Sunset League, rallying for four runs in the fifth. Kyle Mora hit a three-run home run.
Edison 3, Marina 1: The Chargers won in nine innings. Vince Inman threw eight innings and also had a two-run double in the ninth. Kaz Akamatsu got the save in the ninth.
Foothill 13, Brea Olinda 7: Drake Wood hit two home runs and Jacob Mazur added three hits and three RBIs.
Bellflower 3, Glenn 2: Ricky Ramos threw the complete game.
Cleveland 10, Redlands 1: The Cavaliers improved to 13-1 and advanced to the Babe Herman tournament championship game against La Canada at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Stengel Field. Jack Fox struck out seven and Gio Cheherlian had three hits.
North Hollywood 2, Valley Center 0: Leo Ortega threw the shutout.
Hilltop 7, Taft 6: Zach Roth had two RBIs for Taft.
Bishop Amat 8, La Salle 0: Diego Barrera threw a one-hitter and Torreahno Sweet went four for five to lead the Lancers.
Etiwanda 9, Arcadia 2: Cody Freeman contributed two hits and two RBIs and Tyler Freemand had two doubles to lead Etiwanda.
Beckman 4, Irvine 3: R.J. Finley’s squeeze bunt in the seventh gave Beckman the victory. Austin Schell had two hits and two RBIs.
Woodbridge 13, Northwood 3: Woodbridge improvd to 1-1 in the Pacific Coast League. Jake Larson had four hits.
Hemet 14, San Jacinto 2: Hemet improved to 2-0 in league behind Dylan King, who went four for four with six RBIs.
Village Christian 2, Whittier Christian 1: The Crusaders improved to 2-0 in the Olympic League.
Paraclete 5, Campbell Hall 3: Elliot Layne hit his fourth home run in defeat.
Village Christian 2, Whittier Christian 1: The Crusaders improved to 2-0 in the Olympic League.
Sierra Canyon 6, Windward 2: Billy Edwards hit a grand slam in the eighth inning for the win at Windward.
Santa Barbara 6, Ventura 1: Alex Chicote and Tim Piozet combined on a four-hitter for the Dons. John Jensen had an RBI triple and Antonio Andrade had an RBI double.
Redondo 2-5, Torrance 1-4: The Sea Hawks (10-0) stayed unbeaten by coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the second game. Zach Boesen had three RBIs. In the first game, Sean Reynolds struck out nine.
Mountain Ridge 8, Quartz Hill 7: Tyler Vargas had three hits for Quartz Hill.
Crescenta Valley 4, Cathedral 1: Will Smiley threw a complete game. Adrian Damla went three for three.
La Mirada 2, Mayfair 1: Shawn Dumser threw a two-hitter.
