Girls’ basketball: Fairfax has a new coach but issues need to be resolved

In August, Fairfax hired former View Park Prep Coach Corry Thomas to replace Judi Edwards as the girls’ basketball coach.
But Thomas’ status is uncertain as the school deals with questions about two players who transferred from View Park to Fairfax prior to Thomas’ hiring.
Edwards, who is also the Fairfax athletic director, is trying to get the players’ eligible. There’s a rule that you cannot follow your former coach to the new school. The players applied to transfer to Fairfax in May, according to Edwards.
If the players can’t become eligible, Edwards said Thomas may decide to sit out the year while she returns as coach.
