Avalanche Kills 3 Skiers

BOLZANO, Italy — Three skiers were killed Sunday when they were swept away by an avalanche as they were descending a slope near this northern Dolomite town, mountain rescue workers said. The bodies of the three men, all from the Bolzano area, were recovered after two other skiers in the group escaped the avalanche by throwing themselves out of its way.
